Norene Arnold Sorenson, age 88, died peacefully of natural causes, Monday, June 23, 2008 at Loyalton of Flagstaff.

Norene was born on February 24, 1920 to Orson Allen Arnold and Pearl May Frost in Coalville Utah. She was the youngest of five children; Della, Afton, Judith, Oscar and Norene.

Norene graduated from North Summit High School. She received an academic scholarship to Brigham Young University at Provo, Utah. She graduated from BYU in 1942 with a B.S. Degree in secondary education, English. Norene worked in Salt Lake City as a secretary and office manager for Railroad Retirement Board, Utah Manufacturer's Association.

Norene met Paul Wayne Sorenson while attending BYU. They married on June 18, 1946 in Las Vegas, Nevada. They were sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple June 17, 1948. Norene and Paul had four children; Robert Paul, Judy Ann, Eric Arnold and Paul Wayne Junior. Norene was preceded in death by her infant daughter Judy Ann, her infant granddaughter Jamie Lynn and husband Paul.

Norene was active in the LDS church serving many years in the Stake Primary Presidency, Relief Society, Cub Scout program as a Den Mother and a teacher in the Sunday School.

Her hobbies and interests included love of family and home, maintaining a nice home, gardening and landscaping, especially raising beautiful flowers, reading, crocheting, embroidering, traveling and listening to Lawrence Welk.

Norene is survived by her older sister Judith Stevens of Murray, Utah, her three sons; Robert (Kathie), Eric (Janet) and Paul Wayne (Carol) all residing in Flagstaff, eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, June 26, 2008 at the LDS Stake Center, 625 East Cherry, Flagstaff, Arizona at 11:00 A.M. Visitation will be held for family and friends at 10:00 A.M. preceding the service.

Graveside services and interment will be held in the Ephraim City Cemetery, Ephraim, Utah Friday, June 27, 2008.
