Norman George Paul Stuber, 79 of Flagstaff, Arizona, died Friday, April 13 after a courageous battle with cancer, Norman was born in Fountain City, WI on May 8, 1927 to George and Helen Stuber.

Raised on a farm, he developed a love for hunting and fishing. As a youngster Norman drove a team of horses to school and picked up neighboring children along the way.

Norman was united in marriage to Patricia Ann Degenhardt on July 19, 1952. Being an only child he was often teased that he married Pat for her family, who was one of fourteen children. To this union was born 5 children, Diann (George) Parks, Kim Pierce, Buddy (Tina) Stuber, Randy Stuber and Penny (Jimmy) Stuber.

He is survived by his wife, Pat and their children. He was the proud grandpa of 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

In Norman's early years he worked as a lineman for Dairyland Power in Wisconsin and later for L.E. Myers in Chicago, I11. One of Norman's greatest loves was playing baseball and later coaching his children. In l962 the family moved to Missouri where he worked for Townsend Tree Service. In 1979 Norman, Pat and their youngest daughter, Penny, relocated to Arizona where Norman started his own business, Stuber Auction Company. He was known throughout the area for his unique auctioneering style and his charismatic personality. Norman never met a stranger and was always willing to donate his services for needy causes, especially when it involved children. Norman was a member of the Lions Club and was presented with the Melvin Jones Fellow award for dedicated humanitarian services of the Lions Clubs International Foundation. He was also awarded locally the Lion of the Year for 2002-2003.

A rosary service will be Tuesday, April t7 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Pius Catholic Church. The funeral mass will be on Wednesday, April 18 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Pius Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be in his name to the Flagstaff Little League or Flagstaff 4-H Clubs.
