Obituary

Long time resident, Opal Marie Henscheid, passed away Aug. 22, 2011, two days after
her 81st birthday. She was born in Noble, Ok. She and her husband moved to Az. in 1951 settling in Buckeye. The family later moved to Williams then to Flagstaff where they have lived since 1957.

Married 60 years to John Henscheid (deceased), they have three children: Kenny, Flagstaff; LuAnn Roberson, Scottsdale; and Patti Fouse, Mission Viejo, Ca. She has 8 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Opal was employed at Babbitt Ford for 10 years and then spent the next 20 years as an Extraditions Officer at the Coconino County Sheriff's Dept. She was a founding member of the St. Pius X Catholic Church Altar Society as well as fund raising and planning for the then new church. Known as an outstanding cook, baker and tamale maker, Opal was also a fan extraordinaire of "her" Phoenix Suns and Diamondbacks. (We knew not to call her on game nights). Cliff Castle Casino will most likely be in mourning from losing one of their most faithful and devoted supporters.

Mostly though, Opal was a very active and incredible Mother, loving and faithful Grandmother and she took absolute delight in her great grandchildren.

Services will be held on Friday, Sept. 2, 2011 at 10am at St.Pius X/San Francisco de Asis. Donations would be honored at the Olivia White Hospice Home, 752 N. Switzer Cyn. Dr. in Flagstaff.
