Paul Beck
Lancaster
Jun 17, 1946 — Apr 23, 2018
Flagstaff
Paul Lancaster has gone on to that last meeting with the client who can provide a long awaited reunion with family and friends who are waiting to welcome him with open arms and hearts. He will no doubt be selling the benefits of media and advertising to one and all as he shares his signature smile and joyous spirit.
Paul was born in Winslow, Arizona on June 17, 1946 to Parr and Louise Lancaster. He started his radio career in 1963 in Winslow followed by jobs in Holbrook, Arizona and Odessa, Texas. From 1971 until arriving in Los Angeles, Paul worked in the Tucson market. He was sports director of KGUN/TV, Program Director of KTKT and KRQQ. Later Paul was hired at KFI in L.A. as music director and assistant pd. He was thrilled to be working with the All-Star staff that had been assembled. After returning to Arizona, Paul produced video workshops for school kids at Northern Arizona University. He also programmed KAFF FM/AM, KMGN/fm, KVNA-FM/AM and KZGL/fm. He then went on to sales in Flagstaff. At the time of his passing he was Sales Director for Flagstaff Business News. He always felt lucky to be able to work in radio during the heyday of rock and roll. He had many entertaining stories of his time working in the LA radio scene as well as pictures of himself with stars from Billy Joel to Kenny Rogers.
When Paul married Nancy he became the instant father of six. He was an amazing husband and father. His role as the family CEO was one he loved and cherished to the last day of his life. He was a doting grandfather and would drop whatever he was doing to pick up a grandchild from school or attend an activity.
Paul is survived by his wife, Nancy, and The Herd, as he liked to call the kids. Children Pat, Shannon (Phil), Barry (Christopher), Matthew, Amanda (Tino), Andrew (Stephanie), and Patrick (Daniel). Grandchildren Alexis, Lance,Lauren, A.J, Morgan, Brady, Ella, and Posey. He also had a large business family throughout Flagstaff who will feel his loss. He is preceded in death by his mom and dad, Louise and Parr, brother Leon, and son Greg.
In lieu of flowers we would request that donations be made to https://www.gofundme.com/Paul-Lancaster . Paul would also ask that you spend time with your family and friends and to always take every opportunity to share a kindness and a smile.
Paul would love for his friends to come and join his family for a celebration of his life on Saturday, May 5th, at Little America in the Flagstaff Room at 2:00pm.
