Paula Off Obituary
Dec 10, 1952 – Nov 28, 2025
Paula Marie (Condell) Off passed peacefully into God's waiting arms on Friday, Nov 28th. That day a friend noted that while she passed on Black Friday (the day after Thanksgiving) for her it was Easter Sunday. A woman of great faith, she faced her 6-month ordeal with pancreatic cancer with dignity, humor, and with neither pain nor complaint.
Paula was born to parents Ralph Clifford Condell and Florence Elaine (Swigear) Condell in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She attended Olney High School and while attending Lindley United Methodist Church she also participated in the youth group at Olney Presbyterian Church, where many of her friendships grew.
She met her future husband, Phil, as a blind date on New Year's Eve 1972. He was a student at Lehigh University and a member of Sigma Nu fraternity. She became his pin mate, then fiancé, and they were married on November 2nd 1974.
Paula introduced Phil to Christ and through 51 years of marriage she lived by her favorite scripture, 2 Corinthians 5:7 For we walk by faith, not by sight. She worked in the securities department of a large bank, in a financial management firm, and as administrative support for the Coconino County Supervisors office. But her true passion was serving God as she worked in two church offices, in the Camping and Youth ministry for the Desert Southwest Conference of the United Methodist Church, as a Lay Director for the Arizona Walk to Emmaus, as a volunteer with the Blitz Home Builders supporting Habitat for Humanity across the United States, and in a communion ministry to shut-ins, the aged, and the infirmed. Each month she sent many Grace Notes to those who were unable to attend church in person, and for 10 years led a popular multi-denomination Womens' Bible Study in Flagstaff.
Paula and Phil loved boating and travelling and enjoyed numerous trips to Lake Powell, all around the US, and Europe.
Paula is survived by husband Phil Off, children Kevin and Kristie, grandchildren Hannah and Adam, and cousin Nancy. She was preceded in death by daughter Michelle, parents Ralph and Florence, and sister Elaine.
Paula knew that God walked with her every day of her life and now, in her passing, in her Eternal Life with Him. She did, indeed, walk by faith, not by sight.
