Richard "Dick" Eugene Davis, Jr.
Richard (Dick) Eugene Davis Jr. passed away on November 8, 2006 after a brave battle with cancer. Dick was born in Elizabeth, Pennsylvania, on August 12,1933, and moved to Arizona in 1950, where he entered the
Marine Corp in 1955. After moving to Flagstaff in 1969, he met the love of his life, Joy Farmer, whom he married on January 2, 1971. He retired from Black Mesa Pipeline after 38 years of service as a mechanical supervisor. Dick enjoyed hunting, fishing, and offering a lending hand to anyone in need. He will be fondly remembered for being a doting husband, father, and grandfather as well as for his kind spirit, sharp wit, and generous nature.
Dick is survived by his wife, Joy; two daughters, Linda (Andy)Taranto and JJ(Steve) Connell; four granddaughters, Lydia and Elizabeth Taranto, and Chelsea and Danielle Connell. He is also survived by a large
extended family and many loving friends.
A gravesite service will be held on Monday, November 13, 2006, at 10:00 A.M. at the veterans' section of Citizens Cemetery. Norvel Owens Mortuary and the American Legion, Mark A. Moore Post #3 are overseeing the arrangements for the service.
The family requests that donations be sent to the Olivia White Hospice Home, P.O. Box 997, Flagstaff, AZ 86002 or the Cancer Center at Flagstaff Medical Center, 1329 N. Beaver, Flagstaff, AZ 86001 in lieu of flowers.
