Obituary

Richard S. Fimbres, 62, died Friday, July 18, 2008, at his home in Flagstaff.

He was born Nov. 1, 1945 in Prescott to Ricardo Fimbres and Eva (Hernandez) Sanchez. He was raised by his grandparents Rafael and Paula Hernandez. He was a student at St. Joseph's Academy in Prescott and transferred to Flagstaff High School in 1963 when he moved here to help his mother take care of his four younger siblings. He graduated from Flag High in 1963.
He worked at Jeld-Wen for 32 years. After his retirement he was his mother's primary caregiver until her death in 2006.

Richard loved bowling, walking, NAU football and basketball, attending mass, going to the movies, listening to 1950's oldies, and family get-togethers. He was a member of Woodmen of the World and Knight's of Columbus.
He was a Christian man devoted to his faith and his family.

He is survived by his siblings; Jennie (Jimmy) Villas, Veronica (Max) Huitt, of Flagstaff, David Sanchez of Phoenix and Louis Sanchez, also of Flagstaff. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother and grandparents.

Holy Rosary service will be Monday, at 7pm at Our Lady of Guadalupe. Funeral Mass will be Tuesday at 10am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Chapel, 224 S. Kendrick St. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, 210 W. University in Flagstaff.

The family suggests donations, in honor of Richard, to the American Diabetes Association or San Francisco de Asis, 2257 E. Cedar Ave. Flagstaff, AZ 86004.
