Robert Anthony Reyes, 70, passed on February 23, 2026 in Flagstaff, Arizona.

Known to his family and friends as Bobby and affectionately as "Uncle Bobby" to his nieces and nephews, he was born in Winslow, Arizona on March 3, 1955, to Tony and Vicky Reyes. He grew up with happy memories in his Winslow neighborhood "Coopertown," and graduated from Winslow High School in 1974.

Bobby first worked as a butcher at Safeway and later hired with Santa Fe Railway. Over the course of 35 years of rail service, he worked in several departments then as a Locomotive Engineer before retiring from Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) in 2015.

In retirement, Bobby stayed busy with new interests. He enjoyed motorcycle rides across the United States with his good friend, known to everyone as "Chili Dog," cruising scenic routes and attending bike rallies including Sturgis.

Bobby had a special love for the outdoors and spent much of his time fishing, camping, hiking, daily walks, and taking drives while exploring the two states he called home, Arizona and New Mexico. He cheered on his favorite sports teams, Raiders, Celtics, and Yankees with family and friends. In recent years, Bobby spent time with his dear friend Rita Bain, with whom he enjoyed traveling, music, cooking, and just being together.

Bobby helped with St. Mary's Food Bank in Flagstaff and later dedicated his time serving with Northern Arizona Veterans Affairs. He found great meaning in transporting and offering companionship to fellow veterans. He truly valued his time serving our veterans and also enjoyed the camaraderie with other volunteers.

Bobby devoted time in prayer and his church community at San Francisco de Asis Catholic parish. He had a soft heart for helping those in need, often giving both his time and resources to others.

He is survived by his children Anthony and Veronica; their mother Sandra Reyes and granddaughter Alexis Reyes. He is also survived by his brother and best friend Michael Reyes (Jennifer), and sisters Virginia Oso (Tracy), and Annie Carlson. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Ricky Reyes. He leaves behind nieces and nephews who loved him dearly and will always remember his thoughtful presence and warm smile.

In lieu of flowers, Bobby expressed a wish that donations in his memory be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 (or log onto stjude.org). The family also suggests donations to Madonna House 213 Jefferson St., Winslow, AZ 86047 or any favorite nonprofit organization.

A Holy Rosary will be recited Monday March 9, 2026, at 10:00 AM, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM at San Francisco de Asis Catholic Parish, 1600 E Rte 66, Flagstaff, AZ 86001. Celebrant will be Father Michael Gilbert. A luncheon will follow immediately after Mass in the Saint Bonaventure Room at the church.
