Robert Arnold Giovino, known as Bob to his loved ones, passed away peacefully at the age of 89 in his home in Flagstaff, Arizona, on December 9, 2025. He leaves behind his other half, JoAnn Alarcon, a legacy of love as a devoted father to his daughter, Laura-Ashley Yi (Ashley), and sons, Stephen Giovino and Robert Giovino, as well as a cherished grandfather, brother, and so much more to many others. Bob's warmth, humor, and gentle spirit touched all who had the privilege of knowing him. His presence will be deeply and dearly missed, but his legacy of kindness and love will continue to inspire those he leaves behind.

Bob was born in Boston, Massachusetts, on February 8, 1936, to Louise and Benjamin (Ben) Giovino. With unwavering loyalty and a strong work ethic, Bob dedicated himself to his career as a blue-collar worker, proudly serving in the Army and excelling as a foreman machinist and maintenance worker. Known for his remarkable ingenuity, Bob had a unique talent for fixing things, often finding a way to make them work, regardless of how unconventional his methods might have seemed. Whether inspired by episodes of "This Old House" or the clever maneuvers of MacGyver, he never shied away from a challenge.

Above all, family was the center of Bob's world. His greatest joy came from being present and spending time with them. Whether it was dedicating hours to a school project, sitting on the bleachers at swimming and water polo events, wrestling matches, or applauding performances at a theater play, Bob was present for every moment, making sure his family felt his unwavering support. In his warm presence, everyone felt welcome, whether it was a familiar face, a waitress at a restaurant, or a cashier at Home Depot, and he never missed an opportunity to share a kind word or a lighthearted joke.

In his later years, Bob found solace in the simple pleasures of life. He cherished watching Western shows, Star Trek, action thrillers, mysteries, assembling puzzles, playing games with his family, and spending time outdoors, whether riding in his Polaris or quietly enjoying the beauty of nature from his deck, where he took joy in watching and feeding the wildlife. His gentle spirit and caring nature brought light, laughter, and love wherever he went, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew him. Bob will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
