Robert August Hanson II passed away on May 16, 2024, after a courageous and hard-fought battle with cancer. Rob was born in Chicago, IL to John A. and Martha R. Hanson on February 13, 1973. Although Rob lived in many places his family found a true home in Flagstaff, AZ in March 1982. Rob attended Marshall Elementary School, Flagstaff Junior High School, and Flagstaff High School, graduating in June 1991. Rob played Little League, Senior League, and for the Flagstaff High School Eagles baseball team. Rob attended the University of Arizona and found a career in Management.

Those who knew and loved Rob were always entertained by his sense of humor. Rob had a deep love for the University of Arizona Wildcats and the Chicago Bears (who continuously disappointed him). Rob enjoyed all things sports and especially his Fantasy Football League comprised of a group of his dearest friends. Rob's life was centered on his relationships and its triumphs were his deep involvement with his two sons Nick and Tim and his reconnection with his childhood sweetheart and his beloved, Jennifer Michos.

Rob was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, his father John. A. Hanson, and his soul dog Mookie. Rob is survived by his soul mate Jennifer Michos, sons Nick and Tim Hanson, mother Marty Hanson, sister Krista Sedillo (Bobby), his niece and nephew Talei and Amare Menninger, stepmom Leslie Thatcher and step siblings Michael, Lilian, and David Hautemulle.

A Celebration of Rob's life will be held on May 29, 2024, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Norvel Owens Mortuary in Flagstaff, AZ.
