In Loving Memory of Robert "Bob/Bobby" Edward Miller
Robert "Bob/Bobby" Edward Miller, 76, of Flagstaff, AZ, departed this earthly realm on September 30, 2023, at his cherished home, surrounded by his devoted family, following a valiant and prolonged battle against multiple ailments. He was born on December 8, 1946, in Marion, IN, to the late Ester Jr. and Helen (Daily) Miller.
A dedicated veteran of the Army National Guard, Bob's commitment to service extended beyond his military years.
He was instrumental in the establishment of the Fourth Street Flagstaff Kmart, pouring his energy into sales there for many years after relocating from Pueblo, CO. In 1976, he embarked on a new journey, as a production industry worker, culminating in a well-deserved retirement from Nestle Purina in 2009. Post-retirement, Bob found solace and fulfillment in aiding others, particularly in home repairs. His passion for carpentry, love for travel, ATV quad excursions across northern Arizona, and treasured moments spent with cherished friends and family were the sources of his joy.
He is survived by his sisters, Janice Burton of Gas City, and Jean Huff of Fairmount, as well as his brother, Richard Miller of Fairmount, IN. Additionally, Bob leaves behind a legacy of love and a family who adored him. He was the cherished husband of Esther (Harrison) Miller, Flagstaff, AZ, sharing 39 years of a profound and enduring bond. His memory will forever resonate with his sons, Timothy W. (Ivan Ochsner) Miller and Todd A. (Isabelle) Miller, both of Flagstaff, AZ.
Endearingly known as "Bob-bob" by his grandchildren and step-grandchildren. Together with Esther, they nurtured three generations in their home. Bob's influence and love extended to his grandchildren, Elizabeth Miller, Levi (Stephanie) Miller, and great-grandson, Virgil Miller. Also mourning his loss and touched by his support and warmth are his stepdaughters, Ronda Curley and Andrea Curley, as well as step-grandson, Duane Curley, and step-great-grandson, DeAndre Curley, Amari Curley.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Ester Jr. and Helen Miller, and his grandparents, Ester Sr. and Bertha Miller, Arthur Daily, and Olive Daily. He also reunited in eternity with his sisters Joan Estelle and Julia Richards, and brother James P. Miller, along with stepson Brian Curley and step-grandchild, Ryan Curly.
Arrangements to commemorate Bob's extraordinary life are entrusted to Norvel Owens Mortuary, located at 914 E Rte. 66, Flagstaff, AZ.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Bob's name to Flagstaff Shelter Services or The 100 Club of Arizona. His legacy of compassion and selflessness will forever inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him. Bob's light will continue to shine in our hearts, illuminating our paths with love and cherished memories. May he rest in eternal peace.
