Robert Gary Slater, 66, died March 18, 2007, at his home in Flagstaff.

He was born July 12, 1940, in Salt Lake City to Frank and Alice Slater.

He served his country in the United Stated Air Force. After his service he moved to Page and then to Flagstaff in the late 1970s. He worked for Mountain Bell later known as Quest Telecommunications for 30 years, retiring in 2001.

He loved the great times he had fishing and skiing at Lake Powell. He also enjoyed rodeo and most of all, his grandchildren.

He was a member of the Coconino County Sheriff's Posse.

Bob is survived by his daughters, Nancie (Anthony) Padilla of Flagstaff and Christa (Bill) Decker of Coco, Fla.; six grandchildren; and brothers Frank (Betty) Slater of Page, Ed (Nancy) of Fresno, Calif., and Steve Jones of California.
