Robert Thomas Stout, 80, of Flagstaff, Arizona, succumbed to illness in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family September 13 ^th , 2018.

Robert is survived by his wife Julie of 38 years, daughter Carrissa Bowman, sons Paul Stout and David Stout, brother Arthur Stout, and by three loving grandchildren, nieces and nephews and extended family. Robert was a kind and loving father, husband, grandfather, and friend.

Robert had many interests, he was a voracious reader, an athlete, a gardener and cook. Robert worked as an academic in the field of education, having many roles, from admissions officer through professor, chair and dean. In his working life he mentored influenced and inspired countless students and educators. He spent his time in retirement doing volunteer work, being an active member of his community, and attending to his wife Julie. Most days he could be found in front of his house, smoking cigarettes and greeting everyone who passed by.
