Robert Tucker, 57, died Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2007, at Flagstaff Medical Center.
He was born Jan. 2, 1950, in Decatur, IL. He lived several years in
New Orleans, and about 20 years in Flagstaff, AZ., where he had spent the rest of his years.
Robert attended Lakeview High, Decatur, Drake Univ. in De Moines, Iowa, took music classes at Louisiana State and Milliken Univ. in Decatur.
Robert worked in the health food industry at New Frontiers and Bashas. He was an avid, hiker, biker, triathlete, and great lover of animals. He was a drummer, and singer in rock and roll bands throughout Louisiana and Flagstaff. Robert was a master swimmer and enjoyed any type of water activity. He loved his 2 cats, Scooter and Mittens. He loved several rock and roll bands but was particularly fond of Restless Heart and Toto. He enjoyed the company of his many caring and supportive friends. Robert loved Flagstaff.
Robert was preceded in death by father, R. Gehl Tucker, Sr. and sister, Linda Horve, great niece and nephew, Elizabeth and Nathan Horve.
He is survived by: mother, Ann of Decatur; brother Gehl and wife Joan of Flagstaff, AZ; sister Kim Sloan and husband Wm. Sloan Jr. of Oreana, IL.; nephews, Brandon Sloan, wife Lora; great niece Karsyn and great nephew Cade of Mt. Zion, IL.; Steven Horve and wife Tina; great nieces and nephews Gunnar, Brittany, Samantha, Lucas, and Jack of Forsyth, IL; Jeff Horve and wife Michelle; great niece and nephew Lauren and William of Forsyth, IL.; Sky (Mick) Commanda and great nephew Dallyn of Flagstaff; and Charles Commanda of Flagstaff; nieces,
Kristina (Sloan) Sommer and husband Mike; great niece Ella of Decatur; Raven (Brianne) Commanda and husband Kevin Little of Flagstaff;
Robin Commanda of Phoenix, AZ,; and goddaughter Daisy Marie Kotalik of Flagstaff.
An informal memoriam gathering will be held on Sat. Sept. 15, 2007, at Griffith Springs; 2 miles south of Fort Tuthill, (89A) at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Second Chance Animal Shelter.
