ROBERT F.'WHEEZER' VEAZEY

A 'ONE OF A KIND' man left us in the early morning hours of August 19,2046.
Robert "Wheezer" Yazey,69, did after a short, valiant battle with cancer. He was able to work in several successful fishing trips during that time and to those who knew him, it came as no surprise! He had quite a reputation with the fishing and hunting communities and loved being able to help children learn to CATCH fish. He donated his services as a fishing guide to various charity fundraisers and loved those trips to Lee's Ferry. Robert was a wealth of trivia and knew more things about the State of Arizona than many true historians. He attended St. Anthony's School, St. John's Military Academy, Arizona
State College (NAU) and served his country in the United States Navy.

He continued the George Babbitt family tradition of philanthropy by serving on the State
Board of the Arizona Historical Society and as their president for four years. He was also
involved in the Scottsdale Boys and Girls Clubs, the Flagstaff Sheriffs Posse, was
treasurer of the Flagstaff Elks lodge and was president of Anglers United at his death.
He volunteered for 25 years at the PRCA rodeo in Flagstaff and is fondly known and
remembered for cooking the best beans anywhere for any and all who asked.

He is survived by Sally, his wife of 35 years, their daughter, Christine Veazey, (Al
Fletcher), son, Matthew Veazey (Sue), daughter, Liesl Bogar (Rob); grandchildren -
Nate, Riley and Emma Bogar, Helen and Eli Veazey. There were also numerous men
and women who were always considered family or "just one of the kids". He is
proceeded in death by his parents, Isaac and Eunice Babbitt Veazey.

Services will be held at the Nativity BVM Chapel, 16 West Cherry, in Flagstaff. Rosary:
Thursday, August 24 at 7:00 P.M.; Memorial Mass: Friday, August 25 at 10:00 A.M.
A reception at the Elks Lodge will follow services on Friday. interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the San Francisco de Asis
Church Building Fund, 2257 East Cedar Avenue, Flagstaff, AZ 86004.
