Rose Mary Davis

Rose Mary Begay Charlie Davis of Winslow, Arizona Died May 12, 2007 at the Flagstaff Medical Center. She was just short of her 82nd birth day. She was born July 16, 1926 in Lower Greasewood, Arizona. She married George Shemetewa Charlie of Zuni, New Mexico. She worked along side her husband in silversmith work. They stressed education to their children and moral values. As a young girl she excelled in horsemanship, loved going on errands, and heard a large number of sheep. She cooked and made blue cornbread, sheared the sheep and wove rugs. She married her second husband Russell Davis of Queens N.Y. and traveled with him extensively for his job. Those places included the western States, West Virginia, New York, Alaska, Canada, and Mexico. They settled at Black Canyon, Arizona. Latter she moved to Winslow. She loved and enjoyed visiting her children and grandchildren. 3 years ago her health restricted her visits. Survivors include her children Shirley (Ray) Shemetewa Midget, Bear River City, Utah. Barbara Jean (Henry) , Apache Junction, Utah, George Rudy Shemetewa Charlie, Albuquerque, New Mexico, Rebecca Barbone, Pinetop, Arizona, Louie (Leta) Charlie Shemetewa, Phoenix, Arizona, Newton Johnny (Jeanne) Charlie, Winslow, Arizona, Lyman (Evelyn) Charlie, Greasewood, Arizona, and Nevada Girtee Shemetewa (Ray) Soto, Flagstaff, Arizona. Brothers and sisters, Raymond Begay, Lillie Marie Begay, Sarah Brown, Anita Begay, Mary Elizabeth Begay Joy, Rachael Webb, Cecil Standingrock, half Brother Harrison Begay , half Sister Alice Clah,33grandchildren and 30 Great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her first husband George Charlie, one son Richey Charlie, Sister Zonnie Cabon, Brother Kee Tsosie Blackrock

Visitation will b e 9:00 Wed. May 15, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Chapel in Winslow. Funeral services will also be at the church starting at 10:00Am. Burial will follow at the desert View Cemetery.
