Roy Glenn Witherow, 59, of Flagstaff, passed away March 21, 2013 at home after his long but courageous battle with cancer. He was born November 18, 1953 in Arlington, Virginia to the late Robert and Judy Witherow.
Roy was a proud Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. After school he joined the United States Air Force as an officer where he retired as a Captain, and had worked as an Anesthetist.
He was a Associate Professor at the University of Texas before moving to Flagstaff in 1995. While in Flagstaff he served on the City Council for 2 ½ years. Serving on the Disability Awareness and handicap Parking Commission.
Roy loved living in Flagstaff and the many outdoor activities that come with the area, hiking, fishing, yard work and wood working.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years Diana, children Sean Hayes, Tim Witherow, Scott Witherow, Tina Witherow, and Jason Witherow. He is also survived by his siblings Syliva Matson, Vickie Gold, Wayne Witherow, and Rene Witherow.
Memorial Services with military honors will be 10 a.m. Monday, March 25, 2013 at the Norvel Owens Mortuary, 914 E. Route 66.
