Rufus Mullen Jr., 65, of Flagstaff, passed away September 6, 2016. He was born in Artesia, New Mexico to Rufus and Florence Mullen. He came to Flagstaff to play football at NAU and made it his permanent residence. He was employed by UPS and retired from NAU July 17, 2015. Rufus loved people and would talk to anyone. He had a kind heart and was a loving partner and father. He loved music and dancing. Rufus always accepted other as they were and had many friends who will miss him dearly.
Mr. Mullen is survived by his life partner, Rosalie Gallardo, five sons Randolph Mullen, of CA, James L. Gallardo of Flagstaff, William R. Ware of Flagstaff, Rufus Mullen III of Flagstaff, and Michael Mullen of Phoenix; his sister, Louise Gunn of TX, brother, George Mullen (Regina) of NM, sister Marietta Bowman (Robert) of NM and by 13 grandchildren.
A visitation will take place, Monday, September 12 at 10:00 am, followed by funeral services at 11:00 am, both at Norvel Owens Mortuary Chapel, 914 E. Route 66, Flagstaff, Arizona.
