Samuel Nestor Clerry, 65, of Flagstaff, passed away August 9, 2007. He was born May 22, 1942 here in Flagstaff. He was raised in Flagstaff attending public school. He served his country in the U.S. Army and the National Guard Reserves for 20 years retiring in 1987. He also worked at the sawmill, NAD and doing construction. He then worked for NAU for 12 years.
Sam enjoyed fishing, playing horseshoes, going to the lake, bowling and was a coach for little league for 15 years. He was a member of the American Legion Mark A. Moore Post #3. Sam was a caring and giving person to anyone in need.
He is survived by his wife Theresa, sons Joe (Lyla) Clerry, Ray (Angela) Clerry, daughters Mary (Robert) Garcia and Rufina Clerry. He is also survived by his ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Sam was proceeded in death by his mother, Julia Vallejos, brothers Bunny Clerry and Jose Clerry and sister Mary Padilla.
Holy Rosary will be recited and Sam's life will be eulogized Sunday evening, 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00 Monday morning also at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery with military honors provided by the American Legion.
