Santiago De Leon, 90, of Flagstaff, passed away February 7, 2017. He was born May 1, 1926 in Malpaso, Zacatecas, Mexico. On June 6, 1946, at the age of 20 he married the love of his life Raquel. At the age of 21 they moved to the United States, they spent time moving around the states until settling in Flagstaff, AZ in 1951.

Mr. de Leon enjoyed going to the casino, cutting firewood, eating at China Star and Sizzler. He liked a good ponche of tequila, egg whites and coffee. He loved his watermelon, corn on the cob, cottage cheese and peaches. He was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather and friend. He spent most of his years providing for his family, and enjoying his life with his wife of 66 years. He also loved the time spent with his grandchildren, his family, his friends and especially his work with Vasquez Brothers Logging for over 45 years.

Mr. de Leon is survived by his children: Yolanda Casados (Alfred), Mario de Leon, Fernando de Leon (Mary), Santiago de Leon Jr. (Lisa), Joanne Castruita (Jaime), Irene de Leon (Luis), and Rick de Leon; his sister Andrea de Leon, twenty-eight grandchildren, forty-seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father Lazaro de Leon, mother Ricarda Lozano, son Johnny de Leon, daughter Sylvia Gossman, and brother Jose de Leon.

A visitation will be Sunday, February 12th from 4 to 6pm at Norvel Owens Mortuary; Holy Rosary will be Monday February 13th at 9:00am followed by Funeral Mass at 10am both at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Chapel.
