Scott Allen
Darlington
Sep 30, 1957 — Oct 31, 2024
Flagstaff
Scott Allen Darlington passed away peacefully in the beautiful outdoors of Kane County, Utah on October 31, 2024. He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah to Courtney Maurice and Janice (Allen) Darlington on September 30, 1957.
He attended Brighton High School and the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Utah and went on to graduate from Creighton Dental School in Omaha, Nebraska. He moved with his wife and sons to Flagstaff, AZ where he practiced dentistry until his passing. Dr. D could do just about anything. He built his family home, loved to fix things, cook, remodel houses, spend endless summers at Lake Powell, water-ski, be outdoors, and spend time with his large family particularly in the role of "Papa." He was happiest around his boys.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where he primarily served as a scout leader. He influenced many young men who often became unofficial adopted "sixth" sons. He also served a two-year mission in Japan in 1977-79. He lived to serve: his wife, his family, his church, and his patients. He will be sorely missed.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Gina Boberg Darlington, his five sons and their wives; Allen (Rebecca), Beau (Natalie), Chase (Staci), Drew (Mariko), and Zane, and his sixteen grand-children. He is also survived by his mother and five siblings. He was preceded in death by his father.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday November 9, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the Linda Vista Chapel at 2401 E Linda Vista in Flagstaff AZ. Please share your cherished memories of Scott on the Norvel Owens Mortuary page. The service will be available via this zoom link https://zoom.us/j/97619100132 for those out of town.
In lieu of flowers, if you are so inclined, you can donate to the travel and funeral expenses to ease the burden on his large posterity. Venmo @Gina-Darlington, or at the go fund me page https://gofund.me/8995cfdc
