Sharlene G. Larkin, 56, of Flagstaff passed away on October 20th. A native of Southern California, Sharlene was born on November 14, 1952 to Loren and Enza Nelson.
In 1979, Sharlene and her husband John moved to Flagstaff, where they opened Flagstaff Bicycle & Fitness, a business they built together over the next 30 years.
Sharlene loved to be outdoors, particularly riding her tandem with John. Her passions were her family, travelling (especially to Italy!) and great food, and she often managed to combine all three to the joy of those who accompanied her. Her three granddaughters, Amari, Gianna and Siena, were her greatest joy, and she delighted in playing with them. She will be greatly missed by her friends and family for her joy of life and her laughter.
Sharlene is survived by her husband of 38 years John Larkin, Jr. of Flagstaff, daughter Heather (Steven) Lampert of Phoenix, son Shane (Shaudi) of Boston, and three granddaughters, as well as her mother Enza Nelson of Yucaipa, California, siblings Yvonne (Wolfgang) of Yorba Linda, California and Ron (Vicky) of New Delhi, India, nieces, a great-niece, and great-nephews.
Funeral Mass will be Monday, October 26th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 2257 E. Cedar Ave., Flagstaff, Arizona 86004, burial to follow at Citizens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to Northland Hospice and Palliative Care, P.O. Box 997, Flagstaff, Arizona 86002.
