Sherwin "Chuck" Harris passed away peacefully on May 23, 2018 in Flagstaff, Arizona. He was born July 19, 1933 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. He enjoyed a good childhood along with his brother Joseph, and his mother Lillian. He spent many enjoyable summers at the family cabin at West Hawk Lake, Manitoba.

Chuck was a respected pilot, proudly serving in the Royal Canadian Air Force No. 445 Squadron based in Marville, France post WWII. He established many lifelong friendships and enjoyed a special bond with those he served with. He very much looked forward to attending the Squadron reunions and was able to attend the most recent one in 2016.

After his service, Chuck attended the University of Manitoba and graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He spent brief stints in Jamaica and the Bahamas, and eventually settled in Riverside, California. He had a long and distinguished career as an engineer with the City of Riverside. After retiring, Chuck enjoyed travelling to many exotic locations around the world. He eventually relocated to Comox, Vancouver Island, British Colombia. He then moved to Los Altos, California, and finally to Flagstaff, Arizona.

Chuck played many sports. He was an exceptional skier, visiting resorts in Europe as well as enjoying annual trips to Mammoth Mountain, California. He was also an award-winning marksman, a good golfer, and played handball, racquetball, and tennis. He was a scuba diver, a sailor, and spent many great days boating on the Colorado River at Lake Havasu. Chuck even tried boxing but quit after the first time he received a hard punch to the nose. He continued his love of the sport by attending, with his son, dozens of live boxing events, and together they watched countless more fights on television.

Known for his intelligence, sense of humor, quick wit, and capacity for mischief, Chuck was well liked. He had a good long life, travelled the world, and had many good friends. He will be missed by his family and friends.
