Obituary

Shirley Ann Armstrong passed away on April 15, 2019 at the age of 77 at home with her daughter. She was born February 24, 1942, in Oakdale, Louisiana to Lem Jacobs and Annie Mae Lundy. She is the second of two children. Shirley moved to Flagstaff in 1944. She attended Dunbar Elementary School and graduated from Flagstaff High School, confessing Christ at an early age, and baptized at First Missionary Baptist Church in Flagstaff, Arizona. Shirley worked for Jeld Wen, Flagstaff Unified School District, and Peak View Market and was a homemaker, which she enjoyed tremendously. She loved to fish and garden. Shirley was a caring and loving person when it came to others in her life.

Preceded her in death, her husband Nathaniel Armstrong, mother Annie Mae Lundy, father Lem Jacobs, son Paul Wilson, and brother Earl Jacobs.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter Zorator Whitehead (Wayne) of Flagstaff, Arizona, son Dwight Lee Jones of Germantown, Maryland, nephew Justin Pikes of Phoenix, Arizona, 8 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and host of relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Friday evening, April 26 th from 6-8pm at Norvel Owens Mortuary.  Homegoing Celebration will be 10am Saturday, April 27 th at Springhill Missionary Baptist Church with interment to follow at Citizens' Cemetery, Flagstaff, AZ.
