Shirley Rose Horton passed away August 20, 2017, quietly in her home. She was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and grew up in Texas. She married Dr. Lloyd Anthony Horton, Jr. in 1954, and stood strongly by him during his nine years in the Air Force. Shirley and Lloyd eventually moved to Arizona and resided in Buckeye, Litchfield Park, and then Tempe for 28 years where Lloyd was a practicing chiropractic physician. Following Lloyd's untimely death in 2001, Shirley moved to Flagstaff to reside near her daughter Lerryn for the remainder of her life. Shirley and Lloyd are survived by five children: Lloyd Anthony Horton, III (Trey) of Buckeye, AZ; Gregory Lawrence Horton of Moorpark, CA; Lerryn Horton Roberds of Flagstaff, AZ; Evanne Allison Horton of Pueblo, CO; and Shannyn Horton King of Raleigh, NC. In addition to five children, she is survived by eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Shirley is deeply loved and will be greatly missed. Services are scheduled September 2, 2017, at Norvel Owens Mortuary, 914 East Route 66, Flagstaff, Arizona, at 10:00 a.m. followed by a reception for family and friends at Little America Hotel at 12:00 p.m.
