Stephen James Statt

February 23, 1970 – October 16, 2020

Steve Statt (50), of Munds Park passed away October 16, 2020 from complications due to treatments he received for lymphoma as a young adult.  Steve lived for 30 more years after his fight with cancer, and he blessed so many in our community with his smiles and sharing of his God-given talents.

Steve was born in Syracuse, New York, to Jim and Kathie Statt.  He moved to Phoenix as a baby and attended Ss. Simon and Jude Catholic School, Bourgade and Brophy High Schools, and Northern Arizona University.  He spent most of his professional life working in the restaurant industry.  Steve loved cooking, music, fishing, all things San Diego, and spending time with family and friends.

Steve is survived by his parents and his three children Ashley Scharnitzke (Nick), Colin Statt and Natalie Statt.

He is also survived by his siblings Joe Statt (Michele), Lori Gonzales (Mark), Becky Cokeley (Tyler), Leslie Shepherd (Ryan), Greg Statt (Brittany) and many nieces and nephews.

A rosary will be held on Monday, October 26 ^th , at 10:00am at San Francisco de Asis Roman Catholic Church, followed by a funeral mass at 10:30am.   Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.  The church has a COVID limit to 50 attendees, so only family will be able to attend.  The services will be livestreamed from the church on Youtube at https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=san+francisco+de+asis+flagstaff .

The family has decided that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Steve's name to the Ss. Simon & Jude Help-A-Student Fund or the Loreto Sisters at 6351 N. 27 ^th Avenue, Phoenix, AZ, 85017.
