Susan "Suzie" Kolb was born November 1, 1943 in Eden, New York. She graduated from Eden High School then became a volunteer nurse. She moved to Phoenix in 1963, where she went to work for Mountain Bell, she worked for them for thirty years in Phoenix and Flagstaff. She retired in 1995 and moved back to Flagstaff, where she worked for the Federated Community Church as a Church secretary, retiring from this position after six years. She also volunteered in many positions at Trinity Heights United Methodist Church.
Suzie enjoyed the forest and traveling, visiting many national parks, especially Yellowstone National Park, and going on several cruises. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, which did local community work. Suzie enjoyed life to the fullest.
Suzie is survived her husband of 40 years, Brian Kolb, her son Jason (Stacee) Kolb, her brothers Peter Straker and William Straker and her cousin Kim Gussman. She was preceded in death by her parents William and Bessie Straker, and her sister Karen Becker.
A visitation will take place Monday, December 21, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Norvel Owens Mortuary Chapel, 914 E. Route 66, Flagstaff, Arizona. A Celebration of Life Service will be Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at 11:00 am at The Church of the Resurrection, 740 W. University Heights Dr. South, Flagstaff, Arizona.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the Olivia White Hospice Home, PO Box 997, Flagstaff, Arizona 86002.
