Susan R. Simchick

Susan R. Simchick of Flagstaff, Arizona formerly of Johnsonburg, PA passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 10, 2007 at Flagstaff Medical Center in Flagstaff, AZ. She was born on May 27, 1960 in Johnsonburg, a daughter of Joseph and Mary Ann Kissel Simchick.

Ms. Simchick was a 1978 graduate of Johnsonburg Area High School. She attended the Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and graduated in 1983 from the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford with a degree in nursing. She was employed for 7 years as a neonatal intensive care nurse at the DuBois Regional Medical Center in DuBois, PA. She then worked as a traveling nurse for 6 years. In 1996, she accepted a position as a pediatric/neonatal intensive care nurse at the Flagstaff Medical Center. After one year, she began a 10 year career as a flight nurse/clinical coordinator with Guardian Air Medical Transport based in Flagstaff, AZ.

She is survived by her mother of Johnsonburg, PA, one sister, Leslie Goble of Bradford, PA, three brothers, Daniel Simchick and Kenneth Simchick of St. Marys, PA, and Alan Simchick of Johnsonburg, PA, 10 nieces and nephews, one great-nephew and close friend Polly Magness of Flagstaff, AZ.

She was preceded in death by her father on May 4, 2006

A Celebration of her life will be held at the 2:00 Saturday afternoon, January 13, 2007 at Guardian Air Medical Transport hanger at 6639 South Piper Lane, Building 1, Flagstaff, AZ.
