SUSANNITA "SUSIE" GARCIA

Susie Garcia, 75, passed peacefully into God's loving hands on Oct. 5th surrounded by her family. She was born June 10th, 1932 in Jemez, N.M. she spent her youth in New Mexico. She excelled in school, graduating from high school at age 16. In 1952 she married her childhood friend, Ernesto. They immediately moved to Flagstaff to raise a family. They had four children. She devoted her life to her family, raising her children and taking care of her husband. She was always involved in her childrens' education, hobbies and interests. She was a kind and loving wife, mother, grandma, great-grandma, sister and friend. She worked for several years at Navajo Army Depot after moving to Flagstaff. She eventually went to work for the city of Flagstaff, where, after many years, she retired.

Susie was a woman of integrity, wisdom and kindness. Always available to family and friends to help in any way she could. Everyone would seek her opinion on many different matters and they always came away with some very good advice. She was the glue that held her extended and immediate family together. A wonderful person, loving mother and grandmother, her greatest joys were watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren learn and grow. She was always willing to teach and read to them. She was so proud of them all. An avid reader, she enjoyed reading one book after another. She also loved her country western music!

Susie was loved by all who knew her. She will be deeply missed, but the void will be filled with the memories and her legacy will be forever with all of us.
