Ted Ray Hughes was born in Battle Creek, MI on July 29, 1948.  He proudly served his country as a United States Marine from 1965 to 1973.  In June of 1972 he married Kathleen Westlake and after 46 years they still were very much in love.

Ted was a career truck driver working for Yellow Freight and then as an owner-operator.  After his retirement Ted enjoyed traveling the United States with Kathy.  They fished in Alaska, swam with the manatees in Florida, went trail blazing in Hawaii and saw the fall colors on the East Coast. He loved bowling, fishing, woodworking, beer and most importantly, his family.

Ted passed away peacefully surrounded by family at his home on February 6 ^th at 9:43pm.  He is survived by his wife Kathy Hughes, his children Ted Hughes Jr., Michael Hughes (Theresa), Shannon McKay (Jason), Ira Hughes (Melissa), his grandchildren, Maj-Britt Holmes, Jacqueline Martin, Michaela Hughes, Nikolas McKay, Madison Hughes, Cole Hughes, Paisley McKay, Elizabeth McKay and several great grandchildren.

He was proceeded in death by his father Daryl Hughes, stepmother Gladys Hughes, mother Mildred McMorris and his granddaughter Audrey Hughes.
