Obituary

Ted Owen Meredith, 67, passed unexpectedly on July 20, 2025, in the Rim Country near Young, AZ. He was born June 5, 1958, in Phoenix, AZ, the son of Ted and Patricia (Moore) Meredith.

Ted spent his toddler years in Phoenix, AZ, then moved to Young, AZ where he grew up on his father's ranch-Buzzard Roost Ranch. He learned the cowboy way and carried his love of roping, gardening, hunting, fishing, nature, music (he taught himself the guitar and could karaoke like no other), and curiosity of history with him through his life. Ted graduated from Young High School in 1976. He married his high school sweetheart, Patricia Cooper, on July 1, 1978, where they spent 47 years happily married. They were sealed in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Oakland Temple on March 27, 1982. They have 6 children, 21 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild. He loved his family and demonstrated this with his presence, wisdom, and the example he set. He was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served as the Grand Canyon Branch President from 1995-2001. He was a history enthusiast and loved a good story. He was an entrepreneur, owning and developing a career creating high quality work for his customers, partnered with his family. He lived life, enjoying the adventures and people he had the opportunity to share it with.

After graduation, he explored new experiences, grew his skills as a machinist, owned a Landscape company in Chandler, and worked for ADOT at the Grand Canyon Airport. He finished his professional career as the proud owner of a small carpet cleaning business that he grew into Canyon Carpet One in Flagstaff, AZ with over 30 years in business. He completed multiple trade skills and certifications: EMT, Airport Fire and Safety, Wastewater Certification, Water Damage Restoration Certification, and NWFA Certified Professional, amongst others. He was a member of the HAM radio community- KG7RGH.

He was pre-deceased by his father Ted, sister Karen, grandson Carlos, and niece Tiffany.

He is survived by his wife Patricia, mother Patricia, his son Scott married to Carrie, daughter Amy married to Scott, daughter Sarah married to Emmanuel, son Chad, son Kyle married to Elizabeth, and son Brian. His grandchildren - Tyler his wife Dayna, Katelyn, Beth, Emma, Chloe, Gabriel, Cooper, Madison, Hunter, Mason, Miguel, Cybil, Charlie, Kelly, Chye, Samuel, Lillian, Presley, Cicily, and Cosette, and great-grandson Foster, his sister Bonnie, married to Mike, and his sister and brothers through marriage, Christie married to Steve, Bruce married to Joyce, and Doug married to Joanie; many nieces, nephews, and their children.

A service of remembrance will be held at 10 am on Aug 2nd, 2025, at the LDS Cherry Hill Stake Building at 625 E Cherry Ave, Flagstaff AZ, followed by the burial at the Flagstaff Citizens' Cemetery, concluding with a reception at the LDS Stake Building.
