Obituary

Teresa Marie Phillips passed away at the age of 58 on February 15, 2018 in Flagstaff, Arizona. Teresa was born October 4, 1959 to Charles & Verna Spangler in Akron, Ohio. Teresa was raised in Phoenix and Tempe, Arizona. She enjoyed her life with her husband and children in Chandler, Gilbert, and Flagstaff, Arizona.
Teresa is remembered most for her love for others, taking everyone she met into her heart. She had an unconditional giving nature, whether talking to the homeless, buying groceries for them, giving a neighbor time to herself after the birth of her daughter, taking an elderly neighbor to the doctors and even walking through the passing of her friends with them. She found joy and pleasure in all of God's creation and in the small, simplest things in life. She knew how to have fun and enjoy life. She was a joy to everyone she met.
She was an awesome Wife to Tim for 30 years. She taught Tim how to be a loving, gracious and caring man and father. She was the very best Mother to her children, Lisa and Chris and to every other child that came into her life and her home. She was made to be a mother. It was her absolute calling, a God given task and she met that calling with all her heart. She was a wonderful Daughter, an incredible Sister and a good Friend to many.
She is survived by husband Timothy Phillips, son Christopher, daughter Lisa and son-in-law Chase Clarke, her mother Verna Weggeman (Albert), her sisters, Sherry Swee (Jim), Barbara Hughes, Kimberly Spangler (Michelle), nephew James Swee (Michele), nieces Christina Fisher (Ryan), Alisha Rachkoskie (Todd), and Marie Hughes, 3 great nephews and 6 great nieces and many others who considered her their grandmother or aunt.
She was loved by all and will be greatly missed.
Teresa's Celebration of Life will be at 10:00am on Saturday, March 3rd at Central Christian Church in Gilbert, AZ in the Student Center. In lieu of flowers, you can make a donation to your favorite charity in Teresa's name.
