Surrounded by his family, Terrance J. Rice, 83, of Flagstaff, died Wednesday, March 26, 2008, in Flagstaff, Arizona.

Mr. Rice was born in Camp Verde, Arizona on November 10, 1924. He graduated from Camp Verde High School in 1937. In 1947 he married Undine Rice and they celebrated sixty years together before Mrs. Rice's death in April of 2007.

He has been a member of the BPOE Lodge #499 for the past 58 years. Known as "Mr. Allstate" to his clients, he retired from the Allstate Insurance Company in 1989.

An avid outdoorsman Terry enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing and hiking with his family and friends. In 1979 he harvested a trophy bull elk that scored a 400 in the Boone and Crockett record book for Arizona's second largest elk.

"Pop" was a devoted husband, father of three, grandfather of twelve, and great-grandfather of six. .

Mr. Rice is survived by his daughters Debbie Rice of Bremerton, WA, and Sharon (Robert) Richardson of Glendale; son Rick (Sandra) Rice of Flagstaff , his sisters Jessie Rice of Flagstaff and Ruthie (Jay) Hubbs of Camp Verde. He was preceded in death by his wife Undine, his parents Lawrence "Shorty" and Irma Rice, and brother Floyd "Tuffy" Rice.

Visitation will be Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Norvel Owens Mortuary, 914 E. Route 66, Flagstaff. A celebration of his life will be Monday, March 31, at 10:00 am at the Flagstaff LDS Stake Center, 625 E. Cherry Ave. with a visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m. in the Relief Society room.
