Obituary

Thomas James Davis, affectionately known as Papa, was born to Cecil and Mary Catherine Davis. The youngest of five children, he was raised in Chicago and Flossmoor, Illinois. He attended St. Joseph Elementary school and graduated from Mendel High School. He furthered his education at Notre Dame, Loyola, and DePaul Universities. After college Tom was employed as a manufacturer's representative for several furniture lines in Michigan, Indiana, and Ohio. He later transitioned into real estate and an investing career until he retired into a full time position as "Grandpa".

Tom was a devoted and loving husband to Mimi, father to Deborah and (Hugh), Elizabeth and (Brian), and Mary and (Gene), grandfather to Jennifer (Kyle), Amy (Mike), Geno (Tara), Charlie (Colton), Davis, Victoria, Caitrin, Andrew, Kegan, Connolly, Blake, and great-grandfather to Michael. Tom is survived by his brother, Dick Davis of Chicago. Fiercely devoted to his family, Tom and Mimi were, after raising their own daughters, an integral part of daughter Beth's family as full time caregivers to her four children here in Flagstaff.

Tom was also known for his lively political debates, funny stories, songs for every occasion, and razor sharp wit. He was one hell of a guy, and much beloved by his family, friends, and peers of his grandchildren.

Tom died peacefully in his own home, surrounded by family. A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, June 30th at 11:00 am. Please arrive at 10:45 for singing performance by a friend of family.
