Tony K. Begay

Tony Kenneth Begay, 68, of Birdsprings, AZ passed away September 23, 2006 in Winslow, AZ. He was born September 20, 1938 in Birdsprings, AZ to Keyonnie and Mary Ann Williams Begay. He grew up in the Birdsprings area.

Tony did construction work in Winslow and other areas of Arizona. After retirement, he returned to Birdsprings to ranch. Tony along with several of his brothers served their country proudly. He was in the US Army for 4 years. His past times were helping others, mechanic, helping with projects around the house and listening to sports on the radio, especially baseball.

Tony is survived by his mother, MaryAnn Begay, brother; Bobby, Eddie, Eugene, Alvin, Curtis, Wayne, and JR, his sisters, Betty K. Yazzie, and Judy Rose Begay, and uncle Austin Williams (also a Veteran) and his Maternal Aunt, Thelma Monroe. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was proceeded in death by his father, Keyonnie Begay Sr. and his brothers, Ned and Bruce.

Funeral Services will be held 10:00 a.m. at the Norvel Owens Mortuary Chapel, 1505 W. 3rd St., Winslow, AZ with burial at Desert View Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Norvel Owens Mortuary.
