Valgene "Bo" Shelton, a native of Flagstaff, was born August 21st, 1955 and made his journey home on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 surrounded by family, loved ones, and most importantly, the love of his life, Irene Deleon. Bo graduated from Phoenix Indian High School. He lived and worked in Flagstaff his entire life.
Bo was a special spirit that enjoyed sports, coaching, comedy and Mexican food. He loved fishing with his godson, Peter Shelton, and camping with his boys, but the joy in his life was his grandkids.
He is survived by his two daughters, Patricia Shelton (Manuel Chavez) and Alyssa Shelton, and his step-daughter, Amie Vargas (Ramiro Chavarin); his brother and sisters: Lolita Shelton (Melvin Curley), Barbara Schmidt (Waldo), Peter Shelton (Lisa), and Jennifer Gabaldon (Joseph); and his ten grandchildren, two great grandchildren, 23 nieces and nephews, and many great grandnieces and grandnephews.
A visitation will be Saturday, June 18, 2016 at 1:00 pm, followed by funerals services at 2:00 pm, both at Norvel Owens Mortuary Chapel, 914 E. Route 66, Flagstaff, Arizona.
