Obituary

Victor Jr. "Blue" Watahomigie – 8/31/1970 ~ 8/14/2010. Our Little Boy Blue – beloved son, brother, and uncle; now in the Spirit World with MistyBlue, Elmer and Grandma Josie, who gave him his nickname.

Blue was a quiet, gentle giant with a ready sense of humor, a great love of sports, and strong family ties. An outstanding athlete, Blue was an All-Star Little League pitcher and was known as Chocolate Thunder in basketball. During his senior year, he received the Hugh Shevlin Athletics Award and was named Athlete of the Year. Perhaps he is best remembered, however, for his wide smile, quick wit, and quiet chuckle. He especially love playing basketball, and is probably laughing and playing ball with his cousin MistyBlue right now.

A traditional Havasupai Wake will be held in his honor, Thursday, August 19, 2010 at 5pm – midnight at Supai Camp. If you are in the area, please feel free to stop by and share your stories about your time with Blue.

Blue is survived by his parents Victor Sr. and Rose, sisters Diana and Iris, nieces Ciara Rose Tayah and Cheyenne Alyssa Peterson, aunts Rebecca and Anna, and cousins Shana and Nathaniel and their families.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations in his name, Victor Watahomigie Jr., to The Museum of Northern Arizona, 3101 N. Fort Valley Rd. Flagstaff, Arizona 86001.
