In Loving Memory of Dee Dale…

Wanda Dolores "Dee" Dale, 66, made her journey to our Lord God on the evening of Monday March 28, 2011. Dee was born Wanda Dolores McDonald on July 1, 1944 in Alabama.

While living in Blue Island in the south side of Chicago, she met Jerald Thomas Dale and they were married in 1963. They welcomed a daughter; Kelly Danielle Dale in 1979.

Dee passed away peacefully at Flagstaff Medical Center while battling pancreatic cancer and was surrounded by her many family members, friends, her Pastor, and her coworkers in the security department. Dee loved her job at Flagstaff Medical Center where she worked as a PBX Operator, and was known to many for her helpful and perky demeanor and her beautiful voice. Last summer she received FMC's prestigious Gold Star Award for always going above and beyond what was required of her, and making a full thanksgiving meal for all the members of her department that were unable to be at home with their families. She never forgot a birthday and earned the name "the pie lady" by always bringing a Village Inn pie for birthday celebrations for her coworkers. She lived her life passionately; she loved football, ice skating, shopping, and playing cards and yahtzee.

Dee is survived by her beloved husband Thom, daughter Kelly Danielle, son-in-law Blake Smith, RN, sister Patricia (John), sister Dorothy, many nieces and nephews, and numerous cousins. Dee is now joined in heaven by her mother Pearl, father Daniel, brother Dan K., sisters Murlene, Reba Jean, and Julia RaeDean.

A viewing will be held at 5pm on Sunday April 3, 2011 at Norvel Owens. A service will be held Monday April 4, 2011 at eleven o'clock in the morning at Dee and Kelly's church, Living Christ Lutheran Church, located at 6401 North Highway 89 in Flagstaff.

Dee's family wishes to thank Sedona Cancer Center, Flagstaff Medical Center, and all of the many wonderful friends Dee cherished and loved so very much. Dee was an amazing woman and truly an angel. We will miss her dearly.
