Wendy Joy Brown, 74, passed away peacefully at home on August 7th, 2025. Wendy was born on August 18th, 1950 in Chicago, IL and Wendy's love for family and her gifts of music and ministry followed her throughout her life.  Wendy was a very accomplished vocalist, and pianist and loved to use her gifts to worship Jesus.

The thing she held most dear was her love for Jesus and her walk with God. Through the years, she wrote down passage after passage of scripture and always found time to have her quiet time with the Lord. She was a prayer warrior and spent hours praying for her family, friends and strangers.

Wendy loved to care for people, and she did for many years, through cooking meals and hosting family get togethers, leading worship, serving in numerous churches and ministries and most importantly caring for her husband Steve and her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Wendy also loved to laugh (so her middle name Joy was appropriate) and was always finding ways to keep people laughing and entertained, through silly songs, dressing up with different costumes and makeup, and playing harmless pranks on her family, co-workers and friends.

Wendy is survived by her beloved husband Steve Brown, their three sons Tim (Colleen)  Hopkins, Lance (Amber) Hopkins, Steve (Olga) Brown Jr, and by her eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren and her siblings Paul (Joan) Walterman, Cheri Stewart, Dawn (Don) Dunlap and Randy Walterman, and many cousins, nieces and nephews and extended family and proceeded in death by her loving parents Devore and Joyce Walterman.

Wendy leaves behind a legacy of love for her Lord and Savior and her family and friends.

Wendy's memorial service Thursday August 21st, will be held at Christ's Church of Flagstaff, 3475 E Soliere Ave, Flagstaff AZ with a viewing at 12pm service starting at 1pm with a reception to follow.
