Our brave and enduring son and brother, William Fred (Bill) Cody, slipped away early Nov. 27 onto his next journey. Born Sept. 11, 1960, in Bellemont, Ariz., Billy grew up in Flagstaff, attending area schools and graduating from Coconino High in 1978. His analytical mind and interest in math and science led him to study civil engineering at NAU and then at UA in Tucson, where he Beared Down to earn his degree. He subsequently worked for the Navajo Tribe as a survey crew chief until being sidelined by his health. Those close to him will miss his quirky wit, intelligence and quiet demeanor – which never stopped him from singing loudly and out of tune to his favorite music. Most of all, we'll miss his beautiful shy smile that never failed to warm our hearts.

Bill is survived by his loving mother, Marie Cody, brothers Milfred Cody and Leonard Thompson, and sisters Sylvia Cody, Milli Garrett and Michelle Cody. He was preceded in death by his father, Fred H. Cody, and brother Fred.

Services are set 11am, Saturday, Dec. 4th, with viewing at 10 am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Church, 2401 E. Linda Vista Drive, Flagstaff, AZ 86004.
