William "Bill" Elsworth Lemons passed into Glory, Sunday, August 16, 2009, surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 13, 1926 in Newport, AR.
Bill was a local business man for many years, but his passion was preaching the gospel and sharing the Lord with everyone he met. He preached at the Sunshine Rescue Mission on a regular basis.
Bill was a veteran of WWII, loved to fish, hunt, play the guitar and sing, but more than anything, he was a man of God who dearly loved his family and friends. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Rose Jane Lemons, his daughters Rita Guthrie (Allen), Shirley Calahan (Paul), Mary McKay (Roland), Deborah Schill, Diann Chidester, Sandra Johnson (Ken), Wilma Lujan (Merv). He is also survived by granddaughter Shauna Carillo (Adolpho) and great-granddaughter, Brianna Redding (David) whom he loved and raised as his own daughters. He is survived by two brothers and a sister as well as 18 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and two great, great-grandchildren.
Memorial Services will be held 12 Noon, Saturday, August 22, 2009 at Flagstaff First Assembly Church, 3500 N. 4th St.
