Winnie Boyer, 91, of Flagstaff, died Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2007.

Mrs. Boyer was born Winifred Ellen Brause on July 26, 1916, on the family farm in Sulfur Springs, Ohio. She has lived in Flagstaff since 1953.

She was the oldest of six children, and in about 1937 she left the farm and ventured west to Phoenix, where she met and fell in love with her husband of 53 years, Charles Owen Boyer. While Mr. Boyer was busy building the family business, Boyer Metal Company, Mrs. Boyer raised their three children. She was a devout Christian and a member of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Flagstaff.

Mrs. Boyer is survived by her children Kathi Boyer Juarez (Dan Adams) of Reno, Nev., Ron Boyer (Pattie McDaniel) and Brian Boyer (Beth Davis) of Flagstaff; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and various nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Esther Brause; three of her siblings; and her husband.

Memorial services will be Saturday, at 10 a.m., at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, 2605 N. Fort Valley Road, in Flagstaff.
